no coffee at the platform courts

i know this dates, but i just gotta' say "what a bummer!"  i went out in the 30 degree weather to play platform tennis and i thought they'd have coffee in the "shack" - nope - just cold water - at least it was warm enough in the shack that the water was not frozen - but alas, no coffee. i wish there were a way to make sure that coffee was available where it is needed - let me think . . .

probably the thing i am fussiest about is coffee.  i'll eat just about any food if i am hungry enough, but i just can't get a bad cup of coffee down and a weak cup of coffee is a sin. that's why i love my tassimo!  the smell of stale coffee is now a thing of the past! i have always chosen a significant other partially because of their ability to make coffee in the morning.  i am just so groggy before coffee that i am not really good at anything.  my husband, who does not drink coffee, usually makes it for me, but this morning he got up late so i did have to fill the tassimo with water, insert the disk, put the mug under it, press the button, take the milk out of the fridge, pour it and put it back. now i am almost done with my first cup of coffee, a starbucks africa kitamu t disk, and i am getting ready to make myself another one with my breakfast.

huntington country club came through!

i am very pleased to report that huntington country club had coffee today in their platform hut!!! i have played there before and sometimes there is coffee and sometimes there's not - sometimes there's a stale pot sitting there and sometimes there's no milk. today there was a fresh pot and plenty of milk. kudos! i especially needed the coffee after being up last night with two sick kids, waking up this morning at 6:30 to go all the way from forest hills to huntington to play this match. you need not feel sorry for me and my tough life. more importantly, please do not feel sorry for my husband who stayed home from work this morning so i could play the match. everybody's life has it's challenges.

there really should a law . . . .

i've been thinking about this for a while, but it really hit me yesterday at the long island children's museum, they really MUST have coffee at any public place where parents bring children. how dare they charge us admission and expect me to spend the day at their children's museum, standing up, watching my kids make giant bubbles and deny me coffee! they actually did have a coffee vending machine, but it had an "out of order" sign on it. i would like to know how long it had been broken! had the place called to have it repaired? they should have been required to post a sign in the lobby near the ticket booth "NO COFFEE." don't you think we should have been warned! i started this blog today because i have deprived of coffee at children's events for the last six years. i don't want to drink a juicebox, caffeine free diet coke or flavored water! well, OK, i will sometimes drink the water provided, but it is not a substitute for COFFEE. he
